Can all leg wear be used for farrier visits, travelling and stain prevention?
Yes, all boots/socks hold the feather up off the hoof and protect some (if not all) of the leg.
Farriers are always very grateful of feather out their way, in winter especially; legs being covered to prevent them being wet/muddied up by feathered legs.

No. Water resistant means they will repel splashes, stains and rain as well as dusty yards, black rubber surfacing etc.

No, lycra feather socks are made of a soft stretchy fabric which will not overheat legs.
Waterproof feather boots are lightweight and breathable, quiet different to turnout rug type fabric.

Will the socks/boots stop feather mites or made my horse more prone to mites?
Absolutely not, mites must be regularly treated with a topical treatments such as fipronil. Chorioptes mites burrow and feed off of skin therefore boots will not effect or aid this at all.
